Doreen VanTyne is originally from the Portland Oregon area. She has spent many years in Los Angeles working on Film and Television as a Hairstylist and Make up artist. In early 2010 she was diagnosed with Cancer. Through a difficult treatment her beloved Australian Shepherds, Adalena and Tiger Lily never left her side. Shortly after she was well enough to return to work, they passed away due to old age. It is in their honor that Shakey Paw Pet Foundation was formed.

Doreen recently finished 4 seasons on the NBC hit show Grimm.
